OREANDA-NEWS. Kazakhstan Construction Materials specialised exhibition (KCM 2013) opens in Almaty. This three-day exhibition is organised by the leading exhibitions company Iteca and its international partner ITE Group plc.

The dates, venue, and organisers of KCM 2013 have remained unchanged from the seven-year-old KazBuild Spring event, with only the positioning and brand changing. KCM's main purpose is to support domestic producers of construction materials and equipment.

Yuri Borodikhin, General Director of Iteca: "I am proud that, for the first time in Kazakhstan, such a high concentration of domestic manufacturers of construction materials is presented at one place - KCM. This event proves the self-sufficiency and innovation of Kazakhstan's construction industry."

Exhibition space is shared among 115 companies from 6 countries.

80% represent the domestic construction market (domestic producers of construction materials and equipment, large distribution companies), and 20% are representatives from the CIS and other countries (Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine).

KCM 2013's exhibitor list shows that there are a significant number of companies among Kazakhstan construction manufacturers focusing on the production of innovative materials. A large number of exhibitors are presenting polyethylene pipes, construction materials and mixes (including varieties of cement).

Yuri Borodikhin: "The majority of KazBuild Spring exhibitors were producers (80%), but those were mostly international companies. The rebranding of the exhibition has allowed us to see the real picture in the domestic construction industry. 68% of the exhibitors are Kazakhstani producers. The same trend can be seen in the Innovations in the Construction Industry competition."

The regular "Goods. Brand. Technology." competition for innovations in the construction industry will take place on the first day of the exhibition. 23 new products from Kazakhstani manufacturers of construction materials will be presented before the professional judging panel, with the winners announced on 14 March. Winners will be selected by totalling their scores from the judging panel of professionals and experts.

Innovative trenchless pipe repair technology from Umirzak Service, the only company licensed for this type of pipe repair, will be presented at the exhibition and competition for the first time. ShymkentCement will also present several developments, including transparent and photo-catalytic cement.

Advanced technologies, materials and Kazakhstani companies' products are the backbone of KCM 2013 – confirming its position as the only showcase of innovations and trends for the domestic construction industry.
