OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2013. The Government is considering a possibility to reform Ukrautodor which will envisage dividing functions in designing, building and control over road quality.

This was announced by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in the course of his interview to the journalists of Ukrainian channels.

“We are trying to solve a complex problem. Now one body concentrates designing, construction and control over the quality of motor roads. All this is done by one body. But, if I deal with design, building and I supervise my own activity, which mark will I give to myself? That’s why it is necessary to divide these functions,’ the head of the Government stressed.

He did not exclude a possibility that there will be set up three separate organizations after reforming. “One organization will design in compliance with modern requirements, the second organization will build, while the third will accept and pay the works. It will be done and give an opportunity to significantly improve the quality of the national roads,” the Premier noted.
