OREANDA-NEWS. The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Yuriy Kolobov met with European Investment Bank representatives at the head of Vice-President Anton Rop.

The Minister of Finance thanked the European Investment Bank for active participation in reforming of Ukraine's economy.

Almost 15 joint projects are under preparation and implementation both the private and public sectors. Through these projects were made possible - modernization of transport infrastructure, the development of the energy sector and others. It also gave an opportunity to improve financing conditions for small and medium businesses. For the Ukrainian government it is useful to learn the experience of functioning of development banks in the Eastern Partnership countries with EU and formats of cooperation with European financial institutions, including a formation project of Ukrainian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as a mechanism for improving the management of public finances.

During the meeting the Minister of Finance offered to create an informal working group of experts from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, the MFA of Ukraine and the European Investment Bank in Ukraine on coordination of technical aspects of future cooperation and utilization of financial instruments of EIB for the Eastern Partnership countries within the framework of APEX program. This will speed up Ukraine's involvement in the program and fill the financial sector of the country by competitive credit resources of the European Investment Bank.

Thus, the members agreed on further cooperation and willingness to continue to implement joint investment projects.
