OREANDA-NEWS. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID), the country’s Central Transmission Utility and a Navratna PSU, has declared an interim dividend of 16.1% of share capital for the Financial Year 2012-13.

Shri R.N.Nayak, CMD, POWERGRID handed over electronic payment remittance advice of Rs. 501.15 Crore to Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Power (Independent Charge) Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia on March 04, 2013 towards share of Ministry of Power in the interim dividend. On this occasionsenior officials of Ministry of Power and POWERGRIDwere also present. The total interim dividend being disbursed is to the tune of Rs.745.39 Crore to about 8.93 lakh shareholders.

At present POWERGRID is operating about 98,367 ckt. kms. of transmission lines along with 160 sub-stations with transformation capacity of about 1,57,158 MVA. POWERGRID continues to wheel about 50% of total power generated in the country through its transmission network.
