OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2013. “AutoKrAZ” shipped three KrAZ-5233H2 (ФПВ-14224) specialty vehicles.

“AutoKrAZ” completed order for UN with delivery of 5 multipurpose road maintenance vehicles to the Ministry of Public Works of Afghanistan following the contract signing at the end of late year.

The products shipped to customer were the KrAZ-63221 multipurpose road maintenance vehicles provided with rotary snow cutter blower by RETECH and the KrAZ-6322 vacuum street sweepers provided with equipment by KATMERCILER. The shipment was preceded by inspection carried out by two mechanical engineers of the Ministry who came for this purpose to “AutoKrAZ”. During the inspection involving check for completeness, conformity to contract specification, road tests, the customer’s representatives emphasized a high quality of vehicles and compliance with deadlines.

Earlier, at the end of 2012, the KrAZ-63221 snow removal vehicles provided with RASCO winter maintenance equipment were delivered to Afghanistan as part of this contract.

According to press release at UNOPS site (UN Office for Project Services), the trucks were supplied on behalf of the Japanese government to create safer conditions by clearing snow in and around Salang pass and in the remote Ghor province. The trucks were flown urgently at a cost of USD515 000.

The Ministry of Public Works of Afghanistan is confident that its joint efforts with UNOPS will help to save many lives that are lost each year due to harsh conditions.

This is far from being the first experience of cooperation between PJSC “AutoKrAZ” and UN. “AutoKrAZ” is officially registered supplier of civil and military vehicles for UN. Earlier the KrAZ trucks were delivered to support UN peacekeeping operations in conflict areas. “AutoKrAZ” has also delivered the trucks to the Ministry of Public Works of Afghanistan.
