GMC Terrain IntelliLink Now Includes a Standard Tech Geek
OREANDA-NEWS. The 2013 GMC Terrain’s IntelliLink connectivity system offers features like a Pandora internet radio interface, Bluetooth hands-free calling and voice recognition. Now, it comes standard with David. Or Melissa. Or Adam.
In November 2012, General Motors announced an industry-first team of 25 young and tech-savvy Connected Customer Specialists. These experts worked for leading computer and communications companies before coming to General Motors to bring a helping hand to sales teams in GMC showrooms. Their efforts extend to customer driveways across the country, where they help new owners customize IntelliLink around their lives.
“The Terrain’s IntelliLink is already a very intuitive interface,” said Adam Luebbers, a Connected Customer Specialist in Michigan. “What I like to do is help owners make the most of it to meet their needs and interests. For example, if they love Pandora we’ll show them how to move that on-screen icon to a prominent location.
“I also like to point out fun short-cuts,” said Luebbers.” Most users don’t know that instead of browsing into the phone menu, an owner can just say ‘Connect’ with voice command and IntelliLink will start pairing a Bluetooth phone. They’re always amazed by how quick and easy the system is to use.”
GM announced today that the Connected Customer Specialist team will double in size with 25 new hires. Each Connected Customer Specialist is assigned to a geographic area he or she already knows demographically and culturally.
With twice as many tech geniuses out visiting with GMC dealers and customers, IntelliLink owners should feel confident they’re getting the most out of their new in-car technology.
Introduced for the first time on the 2012 Terrain small SUV, IntelliLink’s functionality has expanded in 2013. In addition to new voice commands to give a “Thumbs Up” to a song on Pandora or saying “More like this” to create a custom MP3 playlist, the available SiriusXM Travel Link offers on-screen weather, gas prices and movie times.
IntelliLink, available on most Terrain trim levels and standard on Denali, is also available on the 2013 Acadia crossover SUV and the 2014 Sierra full-size pickup truck coming to dealerships this summer. GMC also confirmed recently that most 2015 model year vehicles will be available with embedded 4G LTE mobile broadband to further advance connectivity for GMC owners.
