OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2013. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine is reconsidering possible volumes of wheat export. By now the Ministry of Agrarian Policy continues carrying out the monitoring of grain balance in the domestic market.

So, taking into account that the state of winter crops for now is characterized as good and satisfactory it affords to estimate positively the future yield. Besides, favorable for both the producers and exporters prices were formed on the market, grain export volumes can be increased. This was informed by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhniuk.

Together with that in the limits of a Memorandum of understanding the department is holding a constant dialog with grain trading companies with regards to elaboration of a well-balanced approach to forming the internal grain storages. Thus far, the general proposition of the grain completely satisfies the domestic needs, that’s why by now the agrarians can additionally export agreed during the talks volumes of grain.

“Thus far, we have agreed with grain traders to additionally export 300 thousand tons of wheat. Besides, in the current month the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and grain traders are planning to coordinate supplies of 200 thousand tons of wheat more to the foreign markets,” Mykola Prysyazhniuk noted.

The Minister stressed that food security is a question number one, so the department is constantly working at keeping optimal balance of grain crops. Together with that, the state maximally accounts for interests of agriculture producers so that they could sell grain and draw funds for holding spring field works and harvest.

The head of the department also emphasized pace of export as stable in the current marketing year.

“In what concerns grain 2012-2013 marketing year we are passing stably and expect that overall export will amount 23 million tons. Up to now the agrarians have already supplied to the foreign markets 18 million tons of grain crops. And it is 5 million more than over the analogous period of last marketing year. In particular, for now the agricultural producers have exported 9 million tons of corn, 6.2 million tons of wheat and 2 million tons of barley,” Mykola Prysyazhniuk added.
