OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2013. This year the state will pay subsidies for the cattle and pigs given to processing enterprises. It is planned to direct UAH 15 mln for ths program in the first half-year of 2013. In such a way the country will encourage increase of volumes of selling cattle by economy subjects to the food-processing enterprises. This was informed by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhniuk.

“This year we are starting the program of payment subsidies to the population, members of agricultural cooperatives and also, which is more important, to the farms for the given livestock and pigs to the processing enterprises. In particular, for the sold from January 1, 2013 cattle weighing over 330 kilograms to the processing enterprises the sum of subsidy will make up UAH 2.50 per kilogram. And for pigs – UAH 1 and 1.50 depending on the total weight of animal,” Mykola Prysyazhniuk emphasized.

The Minister stressed that “support of villagers will be built in two directions from now on: firstly, for cattle breeding (starting from last year UAH 1000 is paid per head of livestock) and, secondly, for this young cattle sold to processing enterprises. Just such forms of assistance will afford to obtain the best results and motivate more actively owners of farms to take up cattle husbandry”.
