OREANDA-NEWS. March 07, 2013. A meeting of the Government under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov has reviewed the implementation of the action plan of Nur Otan Party’s election platform “Kazakhstan. Goals 2017. National Action Plan" over the last year.

Opening the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed that the "National Action Plan is a political document that sets the main directions of development of our society in the next five years under the leadership of Chairman of the Party, President Nursultan Nazarbayev and its implementation is the result of joint work of the Political Council of the Party and the Government."

Kazakh Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dossayev made a report on the results of 2012. He told about the implementation of the main aspects of the National Action Plan.

The GDP growth rate in 2012 was 5%, which is 1% below the target level in the Action Plan. According to the Minister, "it is associated with lower rates of economic growth and, consequently, the reduction in foreign demand for the products of mining and metallurgy sectors." However, as Dossayev said "real economic growth in the medium term is planned at 6-7,6% per year, which will provide the growth of GDP per capita to more than 20 000 U.S. dollars by 2018."

On the whole, the achievement of the planned parameters of economic growth will allow to fulfill the President's instruction to ensure the average annual growth rate of 7%.

Thanks to the Government’s anti-inflationary policy it was possible to keep inflation within the planned corridor, which in the past year was 6%.

Along with this, the Minister reported on the creation of a favorable investment climate, development of public-private partnership, implementation of the People's IPO Program, “Business Road Map-2020”, development of single-industry towns.

Reports were also made by Minister of Education and Science B. Zhumagulov, Agriculture Minister A. Mamytbekov, Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection T. Duissenova, Akim of Zhambyl region K.Bozumbayev, Akim of West Kazakhstan region N.Nogayev. Deputy Chairman of Nur Otan Party B.Baibek spoke at the meeting as well.

Summing up the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed that "the implementation of the election platform of Nur Otan Party is an important goal of the Government." S.Akhmetov expressed confidence that "the Government together with the party “Nur Otan” and its parliamentary faction will successfully perform the National Action Plan."

Akhmetov urged to conduct monitoring and comprehensive analysis of the implementation of the Action Plan in view of recent structural changes in the bodies of state administration.
