OREANDA-NEWS. Northern Capital Gateway LLC the Pulkovo Airport Operator together with Rossiya Airlines and St. Petersburg Civil Aviation Museum opened an exposition devoted to the celebration of Russian Civil Aviation 90th Anniversary at Pulkovo 1 Terminal. Thus, passengers have a great opportunity to know about high lights of the aviation history.

Unique exhibits devoted to the history of aviation uniform and honorable distinctions are put on display. Rare examples of uniform including the cabin attendant’s summer uniform of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s designed for Pulkovo Airport are put on 7 mannequins.

The Airport of Northern Capital in Focus – the first ever photographic exhibition in the Pulkovo Airport history was opened as a part of the exposition. The best pictures were chosen from hundreds of works made by St. Petersburg photographers who took part in the large-scale competition held on the airport home pages on social networking websites. All authors were awarded with certificates and gifts.

12 unique archival pictures of early period of St. Petersburg aviation history including pictures of the first Shosseinaya Airport building and aviation equipment produced at different times held a special place at the exhibition. These pictures were provided by Rossiya Airlines.

Vladimir Korol - an aviation historian, the author of books on the Pulkovo Airport history and the air fleet development in Northern Capital became an honorary participant of the opening ceremony. The history of Pulkovo Airport is closely related to the fate of St. Petersburg and Russia.
