Baltic International Bank Participates in LSE SU Baltic States Forum
OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2013. LSE Baltic Forum 2013: Baltic States as a Regional Player in the EU – Steps, Opportunities and Challenges will be held in London on 22 February. First-time forum will be jointly organised by London School of Economics (LSE) Student Union’s Baltic Society and the embassies from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Baltic International Bank is among the main sponsors.
Mr Edward Lucas, Editor of the International Section of The Economist, will host the forum. The objective of the forum will be focused on discussing a wide range of important issues such as energy security, Baltic education system, and integration of the Baltic States in the EU Financial and Economic System.
Forum speakers will include representatives of public entities and chief executives of large companies from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, including the former Prime Minister of Lithuania Andrius Kubilius and Former Estonian Minister of Finance and Director of the Tax Board Aivar Soerd. Latvia will be represented by Minister for Education and Science Robert Kilis, President of the Association of Latvian Commercial Banks Martins Bicevskis, Ambassador At Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Rolands Lappuke, Chairman of the European Latvian Association Aldis Austers, and Energy Policy Analyst at the Centre for Public Policy PROVIDUS Reinis Aboltins. Students of the London School of Economics and other UK’s leading education institutions will be among the attendees.
LSE SU Baltic Society is a student-led society, founded in 2002. It unites LSE students from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia with the aim to promote Baltic countries in the multicultural environment of the LSE and London.
