OREANDA-NEWS. Gazpromneft Aero, operator of Gazprom Neft’s aviation fuel business, has updated its development strategy by expanding its planning horizon to 2025.
The company is planning to increase its aviation kerosene sales to 5.3 million tons by 2025, which will be 6 percent higher than the planned figure for 2020. The bulk of the fuel will be sold at Gazpromneft Aero’s own fueling complexes. By 2025 there will be 58 such complexes, i.e. five more than in 2020. The company’s international sales network will expand to 220 airports, while its share of the Russian market will amount to over 31 percent.
At present, Gazpromneft Aero is the number one supplier on the Russian aviation fuel market in terms of retail sales volumes, and it is the sole provider of aviation fueling services at Russian Air Force bases. The company’s total aviation fuel sales in 2012 reached 2.9 million tons. Out of that number, 1.9 million tons were put into straight airplanes. This exceeds the 2011 figure by 22 percent. The Company operates at 38 Russian and over 90 overseas airports. Gazpromneft Aero possesses a vast sales network of its own on the Russian market that includes 31 fueling complexes.
“Gazprom Neft’s updated aviation fuel business strategy 2025 establishes new, higher target parameters. This testifies both to successful development of this sales direction and long-term market prospects. By gaining such competitive advantages as a broad sales network and high service standards, Gazprom Aero can prospectively become one of the leaders on the international aviation fuel market,” noted Head of Gazprom Neft Commercial Directorate Levan Kadagidze.
