OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2013. In the framework of Ukraine-EU Summit (at the House of EU Council “Justus Lipsius” an administrative agreement was signed between the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and Directorate General for Trade of the European Commission concerning holding an informal dialog about business climate. From the Ukrainian side the document was signed by Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Ihor Prasolov, from the European Commission’s side it was signed by Director-General of Directorate General for Trade of the European Commission Jean-Luc Demarty.

The informal dialog is aimed at facilitation of raising two-way trade turnover and effective solving of issues in trade and investments, which have mutual interest, by means of timely information exchange among state authorities and in tight cooperation with business representatives.

The Administrative agreement confirms intentions of the parties to hold information exchange, preliminary inform about measures in trade and investment, maintain work directed to eliminating barriers in this area, apply new approaches for improvement trade and investment relations. The document was concluded for five years with a possibility to automatically prolong its effect.

In the process of signing the Minister of Economic Development and Trade noted that the Government of Ukraine views the dialog with European Union as an effective instrument of improvement of investment image of our country.

“Improvement of investment climate was determined as one of main priorities of the State program of activization of economic development for 2013-2014. At this, the highest significance should have system events joined with creating favorable conditions of making business,” Ihor Prasolov told. “I am personally convinced that the Dialog will facilitate to strengthening trust between business representatives in Ukraine and the EU and will remove negative stereotypes concerning business climate in Ukraine”. 

The Minister expressed his assurance that it has to become a weighty signal for business circles of Ukraine and the EU concerning new opportunities for growing business activity under conditions of implementation and functioning of deep and comprehensive free trade area between Ukraine and EU.
