OREANDA-NEWS. Deutsche Telekom facilitates the use of cloud services with an app store for corporate customers. After the Business Marketplace for medium-sized companies, which is already being used by more than 10,000 customers, Telekom now introduces the Enterprise Marketplace, which is specially tailored to the needs of large companies. In its Application Store corporate customers can obtain software, hardware and package solutions according to demand. An additional Developer Portal includes apps developed by users for specific needs.

Enterprise Marketplace solutions are available for up to 99,999 users. Companies can choose between Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions, preconfigured images (appliances) and configurable packages, all of which are easily integrated in existing landscapes. All apps selected including integrated proprietary developments are located in a private cloud and can be accessed via a secure network connection.

Complete integration: from standard to proprietary development
The Application Store mainly provides customers with standardized services. T-Systems bills management of these services, including release changes, updates and patches, flexibly based on use or with a monthly flat rate. Appliances such as Apache application servers are preconfigured for customers and can be combined with application software that they install and manage themselves. In the future, customers will also be able to select which T-Systems cloud data center they want to use.

Various Marketplace services can also be combined in package applications, e.g., a web server with a database and content management service. It is also possible to integrate proprietary developments such as monitoring tools that have been checked by T-Systems ahead of time to ensure that they conform with legal and security-related stipulations. It is up to the company and its developers to decide which tools are visible to which and how many Marketplace participants on the Developer Portal. In addition, package solution users can individually configure their hardware performance by defining the number of CPUs and the scope of RAM, memory and connection bandwidths. The Managed Services variant also includes patches, updates and release changes.

Application services at a glance
In addition to an overview of all apps, the Marketplace customers also have a customized dashboard that only shows their own selected and released apps. The Enterprise Marketplace range of solutions spans, among other things, web servers (Apache and Microsoft IIS), application servers (Tomcat and JBoss), MySQL databases, Microsoft Enterprise Search and Sharepoint as well as OpenSource packages such as LampStack which companies have access to as well as a selection of software applications. T-Systems cooperates closely with partner companies, running their tried and tested solutions on a highly secure infrastructure. The available cloud services include:
CA Nimsoft - IT management
TAXOR - tax accounts program
doculife - document lifecycle management
WeSustain - sustainability reporting
TIS - bank accounts and transaction management
tibbr from TIBCO - enterprise social media
