OREANDA-NEWS. February 26, 2013. The Cabinet of Ministers granted the authority to Defense Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Lebedev to sign an Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of United Arab Emirates on military technical cooperation. A respective resolution was adopted at a Government’s sitting.

A draft Agreement was prepared to implement agreements achieved in the course of the second joint sitting of inter-governmental Ukrainian-UAE trade and economic commission which was held in October of 2012 in Abu Dhabi.

With the Agreement a joint commission for military technical cooperation will be set up and responsible for coordination of work in maintaining production, repair and modernization of armament and military equipment in the interests of Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates, education and training of military specialists, control of quality of defense production in the course of implementation of joint projects, protection of intellectual property rights etc.
