OREANDA-NEWS. Under the contract, signed between SOCAR and the ConocoPhillips Exploration Azerbaijan Ltd, a draft version of the report on environmental assessment of the joint onshore two-dimensional seismic surveys in Azerbaijan was developed.
 The report was prepared in Azerbaijani and English languages. The document reflects initial environmental conditions, socio-economic environment, possible potential environmental impact, as well as reduction measures. Public hearings will be held to study the public opinion and consideration of proposals of local communities on the document. The public hearings will be held in a centralized way in three cities of the regions covered by the project, in Sheki on February 27, Gabala on February 28 and in Shamakhi on March 1. In the course of the event, detailed information on the project will be given, questions of the participants will be responded and suggestions will be heard by the representatives of SOCAR Ecology Department and ConocoPhillips.
