CMC, a leading systems engineering and integration company, and a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services, was honoured with two awards at the Global CSR Excellence and Leadership Awards ceremony, presented by ETNOW on Blue Dart World Corporate Social Responsibility Day on Feb 18, 2013. CMC received awards under the categories: Community Development and Carbon Footprint Accounting and Management.

CMC has aligned its corporate sustainability initiatives in line with current and future core competency areas, ensuring a value-oriented approach that integrates business with the three pillars of sustainability (economic, environmental and social). CMC continues to focus on IT enablement in areas that can make a significant impact on the masses at large. CMC’s ePragati—empowering emerging India initiative, provides tier 2-3 cities with opportunities for growth. CMC is directly contributing to community upliftment through its CSR initiatives in education and employability, by supporting schools in backward areas through basic infrastructure, student scholarships, tuition and teacher training programmes. CMC has extended its job-enabled programmes to youth from backward sections of society, to provide them opportunities for careers in IT.
