S. M. Kirov Colliery Operated by SUEK-Kuzbass Launched New Long Wall
OREANDA-NEWS. S. M. Kirov Colliery, part of SUEK-Kuzbass, launched a new long wall (No.2594); its Polenovsky seam has the minable thickness of 1.7 m and 2 mln tonne coal reserves.
For the first time in the colliery's history the long wall is 300 m long. The face is equipped with 174 JOY roof-supports. Out of these, 34 supports worth 250 mln rubles all were additionally purchased by the Company.
The long wall is also equipped with a 4LS-20 shearer, a JOY AFG-30/800/600 long wall conveyor, an SBL-30/800/150 longwall handler. This coal cutting and transporting machinery is unique for the Russian mining industry by its wear resistance and safety, by its production level. The JOY AFG-30/800/600 conveyor is driven by 3 BREUR motors with variable-frequency control. Innovative technologies help control the degree of the conveyors loading during long wall mining, provide smooth start of the equipment.
