Two New KOMATSU Dump Trucks Arrive at Berezovsky Open-Pit Mine
OREANDA-NEWS. The machinery fleet of the motor-and-tractor shop at Berezovsky open-pit colliery has been reinforced with new equipment, viz. two mine dump trucks KOMATSU HD785. Now, the shop's "combat inventory" lists five such vehicles. The first three trucks arrived at the colliery last May.
The new machines made available under SUEK-Krasnoyarsk investment program focused on maintaining the production capacity of the operation will be hauling waste rock to a waste damp site.
At Berezovsky open-pit mine such work was previously done by BelAZ trucks, however, they could only haul 55 tonnes of rock per trip at the most. The new dump trucks boast almost twice their capacity: each truck has the payload of 90 tonnes, with the dead weight of 26 tonnes. Specifications are impressive: the vehicle's gross engine power is 1,200 h.p., the length exceeds 7 m, the width is 5.2 m.
After start-up procedures, check-up and adjustment of the dump body hydraulic control equipment the trucks were put into operation. The drivers put in charge of the new machines had time to appreciate their steering and control advantages and the outstanding power of these giants.
