Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya 1 Colliery Starts Longwall Operations
OREANDA-NEWS. Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya 1 Colliery operated by SUEK-Kuzbass began working the mineable seam 4.5 m thick in a new high-tech longwall (No.67-09) with coal reserves of 2,815,000 tonne.
The mine face is equipped with a modern coal cutting and transporting system PF6/1142 Bursaries (Germany) consisting of a PF6/1142 longwall conveyor, a PF6/1142 handler, an SK11/14 crusher. A new 7LS-6S(JOY) shearer is also installed. The sum total paid for the longwall machinery, taking into account the completed upgrade of DBT roof supports, amounted to 524 mln rubles.
In terms of reliability, safety and efficiency the level of technology invested in the new longwall is unique for the Russian mining industry. Suffice it to say that the 7LS-6S(JOY) shearer is 1.5 times more productive that the formerly used SL-500 Bursaries.
Furthermore, the mine has a 1,600 mm wide belt conveyor system installed, which is a one-off in the Russian coal industry. It wins 3,500 tonnes of coal per hour. The overall amount of 2012–2013 investments in increasing the productivity and safety of operations at Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya 1 Colliery is 3.5 bn rubles.
Working the new longwall was assigned to the stoping team led by Kuzbass Hero Vladimir Berezovsky. In 2012, this highly professional team was the only one across the industry to win 4 mln tonnes of coal, in the process hitting the new all-Russian record of 827,000 tonnes of coal in monthly output.
