Latvijas Balzams: Latvian Alcoholic Beverages Have High Export Potenti
OREANDA-NEWS. Representatives of AS “Latvijas balzams” (LB) find participation in the largest Food Industry Exhibition in Eastern Europe PRODEXPO 2013 successful, as interest in alcoholic beverages produced in Latvia was high. During the next six months it is planned to conclude several new export contracts — the company informed.
“Riga Black Balsam as an outstanding brand still is a product of interest for distributors of many countries, who would like to include it in their portfolio. This fact supports our plans to increase export of this beverage to the existing markets already this year, as well as to enter new markets such as Moldova, Azerbaijan, Belarus and others,” LB Export Director Justs Dzedons said.
Visitors of the exhibition highly evaluated the quality of the Riga Black Vodka. “Although going to Russia with one’s own vodka might be seen as a very brave action, it definitely proved to be right. We are already working at several particular export offers of this product. Our added value is the quality guaranteed by this product. Along with the increased minimum price of vodka in Russia, the imported vodkas become more competitive in this market, therefore Russia will definitely be the next Riga Black Vodka export market after Great Britain,” LB Brand Director Valters Kaze informs. Additional potential export markets among the CIS countries in his opinion are also Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Moldova.
There was great interest also about the brandy Grand Cavalier Exclusive developed and produced by AS “Latvijas balzams”, the basic market of which for ten years is Lithuania, and liquor Moka that is very popular in Latvia and is already being exported to Lithuania, Poland, and Great Britain. Distributors from Turkey showed interest in liquor Moka.
Competition in the segment of alcoholic beverages at the exhibition was very fierce that is proved by the fact that four out of eight halls were reserved for proposals of alcoholic beverages. All in all in 22 exhibition halls more than 2000 companies were represented, including 336 alcoholic beverage producers from 29 countries.
AS “Latvijas balzams” was represented with a stand and a wide selection of products at the largest Food Industry Exhibition in Eastern Europe and CIS countries — exhibition that was held from 11-15 February in Moscow. Participation of AS “Latvijas balzams” is supported by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia within the scope of export support programmes.
