OREANDA-NEWS. At year-end 2012, experts from FSUE “All-Russia Scientific and Research Institute for Metrology named after D.I. Mendeleev” carried out primary certification of a test bench for reversible pump turbines produced by JSC NPO CKTI”, which is the only independent test bench in the Russian Federation for testing hydraulic turbines, pumps and reversible hydraulic machines in accordance with the requirements of International standard IEC 60193.

Successful certification is a result of methodical efforts which were aimed at innovative development of the test bench background. Thus, last August, a complex bench KC10606 was certified, which is the only bench in Russia capable to generate steam with ultra-supercritical parameters of P=40 MPa, T=600 °C.

It became possible to certify the bench due to fundamental modernization of measurement system performed under the Investment program of JSC “NPO CKTI”, as well as due to automated measurement acquisition and primary processing system. During the modernization, the whole measurement and recording system became fully digital and due to this feature the bench took the leading position in the industry. The bench allows to investigate heat exchange, hydrodynamics and vibrations with single- and double phase streams flowing in heat power equipment elements, as well as to perform different types of tests, including acceptance, certification and resource tests, tests of heat exchangers and valves for NPPs, TPPs, ship and industrial power industries, with such test media as water, steam and water mixture, saturated and superheated steam, air and their combinations.

Since recent times, test benches are getting more and more demanded. Using an experimental base of JSC “NPO CKTI” which comprises an experimental TPP and about one hundred benches, tests are regularly performed for the needs of State Corporation “Rosatom”, JSC “Power Machines”, JSC “RusHydro”, Group INTER RAO of UES, Alstom, LLC “Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies”, JSC “United Machine-Building Plants” and other companies.
