OREANDA-NEWS. Work started for driving the right hand interstation tunnel between Moscow subway Lermontovsky Prospekt and Zhulebino stations on Taganskaya-Krasnopresnenskaya Line. The tunneling is done from Zhulebino Station. The tunnel length is 1,575 meters.

The interstation tunnel is driven using Herrenknecht EPB-6340 Tunnel Boring Machine for a cutting diameter of 6.340 m. The machine has driven eighty meters by the beginning of February. The left hand tunnel using Lovat RME-242SE Tunnel Boring Machine has been driven since April 2012. The tunneling work in Lermontovsky Prospekt - Zhulebino section is to be completed in May 2013.
