OREANDA-NEWS. ANTONOV Company was visited by delegation of Ministry of Transport of Republic of the Sudan headed by Ahmed Babeker Nahar, the Minister. During the visit, high guests familiarized with modern ANTONOV programmes and main directions of the enterprise’s activity. Assembly shops of ANTONOV Serial Plant, laboratories and test centres of ANTONOV had been visited as well.

During negotiations aimed to discuss the questions of mutually beneficial cooperation, parties paid especial attention to programme of development of family of the AN-148 and AN-158 regional jets. Representatives of the Sudan familiarized with the system of after?sale support of the airplanes in operation, in particular, with training of flight and technical personnel of the aircraft operators. Sudanese specialists highly appreciated wide possibilities of D level complex simulator used in the process of training the pilots of the AN-148.

Mr. Nahar believes the AN-148 and AN-158 airplanes can be effectively operated by companies of Republic of the Sudan. Detailed discussion of possible terms of delivery of these airplanes took place next day, on February 5, with manager of Sudan Airways. Thus, the visit became the next step to cooperation between Ukraine and Republic of the Sudan in aviation field.
