Ukraine, Euratom to Improve Security of Nuclear Power Units
OREANDA-NEWS. February 20, 2013. In Luxembourg (Grand Duchy of Luxembourg) official talks between Ukraine and the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) in order to obtain a loan of EUR 300 million for the project "Integrated (consolidated) program improve safety nuclear power units "(the Project) were held.
Ukrainian delegation at the talks was headed by Director of Strategic Policy, investment and nuclear-power complex of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry Mykyta Konstyantynov.
Following the negotiations Ukrainian side signed the Protocol of negotiations.
Euratom’s representatives noted that the initialing of the Agreements for the Project can be only at the beginning of April 2013 following the approval by the European Commission of the results of negotiations.
It should be noted that as at the end of January of this year were held negotiations and it had been initialed Guarantee and Loan Agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in order to obtain a loan of EUR 300 million for the implementation of these projects.
