OREANDA-NEWS. February 20, 2013. China reported that Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group Co Ltd a state owned oil and natural gas producer said that it started drilling its first exploration well in Thailand’s Block L31/50.

The well YPT2 will be drilled to a planned depth of 4,096 meters in the block, which covers an area of 396,000 hectares in northeast Thailand’s Khorat Basin.

Yanchang said it will likely need 90 days to drill the well.
