OREANDA-NEWS. Kaluga Turbine Works OJSC (KTZ OJSC) – member of the Power Machines Company – has manufactured and successfully tested a 73 MW steam turbine for TPP-12 belonging to OAO Mosenergo.

In 2011 Power Machines signed a contract to manufacture and supply the equipment for a power unit complete with a combined-cycle power plant with the main contractor for the power unit construction – OAO Mosenergo. The scope of contractual obligations of the power engineering company includes a GTE-160 gas turbine rated at 160 MW, two turbo generators –rated at 160 and 80 MW and a steam turbine rated at 73 MW, as well as auxiliary equipment.

The steam turbine manufactured by KTZ OJSC will run as a part of the 220 MW combined cycle unit at TPP-12 operated by Mosenergo. The machine represents a turbine with one intermediate low pressure steam inlet and one adjustable intermediate steam bleed for heat and power supply.

The turbine belongs to the capacity band, which is KTZ OJSC has been successfully developing within the last few years. The enterprise has previously supplied similar units of the same capacity to Chelyabinskaya TPP-3 and Ufimskaya TPP-5.
