OREANDA-NEWS. February 19, 2013. Ingredients for fuels and synthetic rubber will be produced by China's Longgang Chemical Company, as it is been selected by Honeywell for UOP Oleflex process technology, which uses a fully-recyclable platinum catalyst.

Catalytic dehydrogenation is used by C4 Oleflex process for converting isobutane to isobutylene, which is used in the production of fuels and synthetic rubber.

The lowest cash cost of production is provided by Oleflex technology, being the highest return on investment and the smallest environmental footprint, according to makers Honeywell.

A fully recyclable platinum alumina-based catalyst system is used for performance stems from its low capital costs, high isobutylene yields, low energy and water consumption.

The technology will be used by Chinese firm to process 175,000 metric tonnes of mixed butane feedstock annually at its facility in Dongying City, Shandong Province, China, which is expected to start up in 2015.
