OREANDA-NEWS. Druzhkovka Heavy Engineering Plant, a part of Mining Machines, has shipped storage battery locomotives AM8D and 2AM8D to Kazakhstan's biggest mining companies, ArcelorMittal Temirtau and ENRC.

Mining Machines has manufactured ordinary and dual locomotives, a couple of the same locomotives with one control and power system, for its Kazakh partners. It helps to increase traction performance and improve operational efficiency of the machines. Moreover, these storage battery locomotives are explosionproof.

The advanced alarm and lighting system ensure good operability of locomotives and higher safety of miners. In addition, the machines supplied to Kazchrome operating under umbrella of ENRC, have additional chargers.

These locomotives will be used in Kazchrome's ore mining and processing plants in Aktobe Province and in a ArcelorMittal Temirtau's mine in Karagandy Province.

Last year Mining Machines completed several orders from ArcelorMittal Temirtau. The biggest were KPD header for making gas drainage gateways and a main fan.

Igor Fomenko, Mining Machines Marketing and Sales Director, is confident that the company offers its Kazakh partners reliable mining equipment, which has proven to be efficient in complicated mining conditions in Ukraine, Russia and other countries. "Moreover, we are ready to provide good warranty and post-warranty maintenance," he said. To this end Mining Machines has opened its trade office providing full services in Kazakhstan.

These explosionproof storage battery locomotives have been in the market since 1960s and are common underground transport vehicles. Over this period thay have been modified many times, with the last upgrade being done in 2010. Today Ukrainian coal mines operate about 1,200 such locomotives.
