Inflation Made Up 0,8% in Moldova in January
OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2013. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, within January, 2012 – January, 2013 it made 4.6%. In January, 2012 Moldova saw the 0.3% inflation. Within January, 2011- January, 2012 it was 6.9%. According to NBS, in January 2013 foodstuff went 1.6% up, prices for nonfoods increasing 0.4%. Tariffs for services rose 0.3%.
IN particular, in January, 2013 prices for fresh vegetables increased 10.3%, including 23.9% for tomatoes, 13.5% for sugar beet, 10.5% for carrot, 9.6% for cabbage, 8.1% for cucumber and 6.9% for onion. Prices increased 4.8% for potatoes, 1.8% for fish and fish products; 1.7% for milk, 0.8% for sugar, 0.6% for wheat flour; 0.5% for fresh fruits, including 6.2% for grapes and 4.2% for tropic fruits.
Among non-foods, in January, 2013 the increase in prices was registered for garments y 0.5%, foot wear by 0.3%, fuel 0.45 including bottled gas t 1.9%; audio and video devices by 1.35 and cigarettes by 0.7%.
At the same time, prices decreased 1.9% for meat products, 1.7% for lard, 1.2% for nuts and citruses, and 1.1% for vegetable oil. Prices declined 0.1% to 0.9% for male and female foot wear, stoves and other kitchen appliances, and computers. Among services to population the increase was registered for taxi services by 3.1%, funeral services by 1.7%, medical services by 1.3%, including dentist services y 1.2%.
Nursery and kindergarten fees increased 1.2% too. Inflation made up 4.1% in Moldova in 2012. NBM has downgraded its forecast for inflation in Moldova in 2013 from 5.3% to 4.1%.
