International Airport and Bridges to Be Built in Turkmenabat
OREANDA-NEWS. A complex of new international airport designed for 500 passengers per hour will be built in Turkmenabat. Construction will be launched in February, 2013 and the new air terminal will be put into operation in February, 2016. The new airport will promote development of the air transport industry, the further improvement of the quality of passenger services and increase of the number of international flights. A contract for design and construction of the new airport with improvement of the adjacent territory will be concluded between the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service (Turkmen Airlines) and the Altcom Road Construction limited liability company (Ukraine).
The Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan will conclude a contract with the Ukrainian Company for design and construction of the 1,750-metre Turkmenabat-Farap railroad bridge across the Amu Darya River. The new bridge will contribute to creating the rail facilities in compliance with the international standards, increasing the volume and improving the quality of cargo and passenger traffic. It is planned to start construction in February, 2013 and put the new bridge into operation in February, 2016.
The Altcom Company will be also engaged in construction of a 1,600-metre road bridge that will connect Turkmenabat and Farap across the Amu Darya River. The contract for design and construction of the bridge with bank seat, equipping the entrance and exit roads and outer electricity network will be concluded between the Turkmenavtoyollary State Concern and the Ukrainian Company with the aim to develop and modernize the road infrastructure in the region. Construction will be started in February, 2013 and completed in August, 2016.
