In the course of the visit, negotiations with Mr. Charoen Passara, MWA Governor, were held, and the parties exchanged their views on urgent issues related to water supply of big cities (the population of Bangkok and its suburbs is over 15 million people).

The members of Vodokanal delegation visited Bangkhen water treatment plant - the biggest one in the South-East Asia with the capacity of 3.6 mln m2/ day. According to MWA representatives, drinking water quality in the capital of Thailand meets all the requirements of the World Health Organization (WHO).

During the visit, the Memorandum of Understanding between the two large water companies was signed. The document envisages among other things the possibility of training Thailand specialists at the International Advanced Water Technologies Centre established in SUE “Vodokanal of St.Petersburg” in 2011.

It should be reminded that the Centre interacts and exchanges data with scientific, research, educational, environmental institutions and organizations, industrial enterprises, professional associations and public organizations in Russia and other countries. The Centre’s training program is being implemented by means of conferences, seminars, short-term training courses for specialists, interactive lessons for schoolchildren, lectures for students.
