Sukhoi Superjet 100 commercial operation started in April 2011. By February 2013 production aircraft Sukhoi Superjet 100 is under operation for 1 year and 11 months.
First two years of commercial operation of any aircraft type diagnose design deficiencies. They are isolated and service bulletin is issued for all fleet under operation. Aircraft at the plant are improved during production process.
During Sukhoi Superjet 100 commercial operation there were erroneous leakage detection system engagement, slat extention fault and landing gear up fault detected.
SCAC took the following actions:
1. Erroneous leakage detection system engagement – problem isolated, service bulletin issued and implemented for all aircraft at production site. All the necessary changes will be implemented for the aircraft being under operation as soon as possible. 2. Lift devices (slat extention fault). Problem isolated. Additional bench running performed in order to assure solution verification. Bulletin issued. Design improvement implementation performed for four of ten aircraft under operation. The rest of the SSJ100 fleet to be handled upon schedule agreement with the carrier. 3. Landing gear up fault is not a systematical fault, it was detected at two aircraft under operation. The problem is isolated and being solved by SCAC together with Messier-Bugatti-Dowty. Messier-Bugatti-Dowty and SCAC prepared all the necessary documents and addressed them to Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviacia) and to the carrier. Landing gear up fault is not qualified as an inflight emergency. All other aircraft checked, no landing gear problem detected. According to the terms of the contracts signed if there is any fault at any SSJ100 detected, it is eliminated together by the manufacturer, the supplier and the carrier representative.
2. SSJ100 type design corresponds to the aviation rules and regulations requirements and that is verified by the type certificate of Interstate Aviation Committee Aviation Register (IAC AR) issued in January 2011. The type certificate allowed to launch SSJ100 commercial operation.
3. In February 2012 EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) issued Sukhoi Superjet 100 (модель RRJ-95B) type certificate confirming that SCAC demonstrated SSJ100 full compliance with EASA air worthiness and environmental impact requirements. EASA type certificate allows European air carriers and carriers of those states where EASA norms are taken as standard, receive and operate SSJ100 (RRJ-95B). Sukhoi Superjet 100 is the first Russian aircraft certified according to CS-25 EASA.
