Tata Power Organizes More Health Checkup Camps
OREANDA-NEWS. Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company has been at the forefront to address community needs. As part of its health care initiatives, Tata Power’s Haldia plant has started organizing regular, general as well as specialized health check up camps on rotational basis in the nearby areas.
In the month of November, Tata Power’s Haldia team organized a total of 8 health camps in its 6 intervention areas. All these health camps were organized on a rotational basis in different areas such as Patikhali, Durgachak, Mohammadpur, Basulia, Chapi and Srikrishnapur. These camps not only provided free doctor’s consultation but also distributed free medicines to the community people on the basis of doctor’s prescriptions. Through these camps, Haldia team reached out to a total of 609 needy people.
Speaking about this initiative, Mr. Abhijit Ain Das, Station Head, Haldia Power Plant, said, “The overwhelming response from community people particularly from the aged members of the society helps us to successfully achieve our objective in conducting such type of initiatives. We will continue to support the health care needs of the surrounding communities and improve their quality of life.”
Through its concerted health care initiatives Haldia division always tries to reach out to the most vulnerable groups in its surrounding areas which include aged population, needy families, women and children. People of these areas specially the aged and women have insufficient means and limited access to doctor’s consultation. The objective of organizing these camps is to reach out to the needy and provide basic health care facilities including free doctor’s consultation and medicines to the beneficiaries.
