OREANDA-NEWS. "Responsible care of the chemical industry of Ukraine" program is the analogue of the international "Responsible Care" program, aimed at improving the performance of chemical companies in the areas of labour safety, industrial safety, prevention of the negative impact of production processes and products on human health and the environment and sustainable use of natural resources.

Multinational chemical corporations and various companies of the chemical sector from approximately 60 countries around the world have joined this voluntary international initiative.

In September 2012, the chemical industry organization - the Union of Chemists of Ukraine was admitted to the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic) and is now the official coordinator of the program in Ukraine.

Having become a member of the Council, the Union of Chemists of Ukraine together with the members of the international program "Responsible Care", have obtained the direct access to special information resources that can help them to find out more about the best European practices of the program implementation, as well as about the methods of self-compliance with the principles of the program according to the key efficiency indicators.

"Responsible Care" program - it is a transparency and efficiency indicator of company's policy in the areas of industrial safety, health and environmental protection, energy saving.

At this stage, seven chemical companies in Ukraine have joined the program: PJSC "Crimea TITAN", Odessa Port Plant "OPP", PJSC "Severodonetsk Azot", PJSC "Concern STIROL", OJSC Rivneazot, PJSC Cherkassy "Azot", PJSC "Crimean Soda plant".

PJSC "Crimea TITAN" joined the program in 2011. According to the participation results, the Union of Chemists of Ukraine decided to delegate PJSC "Crimea TITAN" the right of use the logo of the "Responsible Care" program for business documents and marketing materials. It will have a positive impact on company's status in international customers and partners eyes.
