OREANDA-NEWS. Truck wholesales were 359.92 thousand units in January-December 2012, up 9.5% on the year. Absolute sales growth was registered in all segments of the truck market, however the largest segment of domestic-branded trucks showed only a token growth by 0.6% to 162.63 thousand units. The market share of this segment lost four points to 45.2%. Sales of foreign-branded trucks assembled in Russia grew from 21.45 thousand units to 28.76 thousand units, and their market share added 1.5 points to reach 8.0%. The cumulative share of locally produced trucks (both domestic and foreign models) shrank from 55.7% to 53.2%. New imports rose by 16.3% to 150.43 thousand trucks, and their share expanded by 2.4 points to 41.8%. Used imports were up 11.9% to 18.10 thousand trucks, and their share added 0.1 point to reach 5.0%.
