ANRCETI to Organize Competition for 4G License in 2013
OREANDA-NEWS. February 13, 2013. Director General for the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communication and Information Technologies stated this at a press conference this Monday. The arrival of a new provider of 4G services on the market will encourage competition and raise availability of 4G services for users, he stressed.
Last year 4G licenses were obtained by Moldcell and Orange Moldova for 10 mln. euros each. 4G is a mobile phone mobile communications standard providing HS mobile ultra-broadband Internet access, IMT (International Mobile Telecommunications) and/or LTE (Long Term Evolution) or/and IMT-Advanced (International Mobile Telecommunications Advanced). They provide the mobile internet speed connection up to 100 Mbps, or several time higher than the speed available in 3G networks.
These technologies considerably improve quality of the access to the mobile internet, interactivity of data transmission, help organize mobile phone video conferences and use other modern applications for mobile communications.
