For now the majority of municipal boilers in a heat energy utilities system are in emergency condition, equipment of practically all the boiler houses, and it is over 10 000 boilers, are charaterized with 80% depreciation while efficiency coefficient of almost two thirds of Ukrainian boiler houses is lower 80%.

Under conditions of the critical state of a system of centralized heat supplies issues of elaboration of national technologies for this area need decisions which in their energy effectiveness respond to the world level, while they are more available economically.

On support of State Agency for Science, Innovation and Informatization, within framework of the state order for creating contemporary technologies, Institute of technical thermophysics of NASU (National Academy of Science of Ukraine) elaborated a full set of working documentation for a serial production of a water-heating gas boiler with heat output in 1.25 MW and with utilizer of heat of exhaust gases. A produced test sample had been installed in a boiler house of one of residential areas of Kyiv district in Kharkiv city and successfully tested and certified. 

Its main technical and economic characteristics surpass showings of work of boilers not only made by national but by foreign producers. Consumption of the natural gas per unit is twofold less from a boiler, one of the most widely-spread in the housing and communal services system.  
The new boiler is produced from exceptionally national components. On conditions of serial production its price will be lower from its import analogues by 30%, from the national – by 10-15% and will amount approximately UAH 230 thousand.

On the estimations of experts now in the heat energy utilities system of Ukraine around 9 thousand boilers are functioning and they could be replaced with new boilers, that on the nationwide scale can give annual economy in UAH 1.6 bln.

The current year already production of up to 100 boilers per year can be organized with a possibility to increase their amount up to 300 – 400 in 2014.
