OREANDA-NEWS.  The representatives of KAMAZ took part in a meeting on the Russian NGV fuel market development which was held at Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk in the city of Tomsk.

The meeting was held by Viktor Zubkov, Chairman of the Gazprom Board of Directors, Chairman of the Management Committee and Director General of OOO Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo. He noted that one of the essential prerequisites for Russian NGV fuel market development consisted in coordinating the actions of regional authorities, equipment manufacturers and investors, as well as creating a regulatory framework.

KAMAZ was represented at the meeting by Evgeny Pronin, Deputy Director General of OJSC KAMAZ for Sales and Service, and Rafael Batyrshin, General Director of OOO RariTEK – the distributor of products with gas engines. They delivered an address on “KAMAZ Vehicles Running on Compressed Natural Gas: Model Range, Operating Experience”.

The participants of the meeting also managed to visit an exhibition of a NEFAZ bus (Euro 4) and several CNG KAMAZ vehicles, including a KAMAZ-65116 prime mover running on CNG and LNG, two garbage trucks on the basis of KAMAZ-65115, a rear-unloading dump truck KAMAZ-65115-865-30 and a vacuum truck KO-505AG.

“In order to provide dynamic development of the Russian NGV fuel market, a federal law is needed providing for comprehensive state support measures. These should, at first place, include tax benefits for motor vehicle companies converting transport to NGV fuel, exemption from payments and duties, subsidizing NGV fuel purchase at the federal level and introduction of regional target programs. Widespread use of this type of fuel will lead to the prime cost reduction of motor transportation and, therefore, will boost economic development of certain regions and Russia as a whole. Moreover, it will enable to considerably improve the ecological situation in the country including Siberia with its unique natural resources,” noted Viktor Zubkov at the meeting.

KAMAZ plans to establish its own service center in Tomsk which will offer a better service of special equipment for local users. “We are interested in it, because the regional maintenance depot and other enterprises have got worn-out equipment. And now, they have to transport equipment to another region to get it repaired, or repair it here without professional assistance,” said Maksim Tynyanov, Head of the Regional Department of Transport, Roads and Communications. He said that the regional authorities would soon conduct negotiations to establish a KAMAZ service center in Tomsk.
