Ukraine to Announce Auction for Export of Electricity to Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. February 08, 2013. At the auction for the right of access to capacities of intergovernmental power networks of Ukraine for export of electricity to Moldova 5 lots were offered at a total capacity of 350 MW. Applications for participation are accepted till February 11, the auction takes place on February, 12. Results will be announced on February, 13.
Besides, Ukraine announces an auction for export of power to Russia, Belarus, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. It should be reminded that since April, 1, 2012 power from Ukraine to Moldova is exported by DTEK Power Trade. Moldova purchases the power at 6.9 cents per 1 KWh, which is equal to the selling price offered by Moldova Hydro-power Plant.
The largest power holding of Ukraine – DTEK, a member of System Capital Management Group, owned by Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Ahmetov, was said to buy access to throughputs of inter-state networks of Ukraine for export of electricity of 1580 MW to Moldova, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Poland and Belarus in the period from January, 1, till December, 31, 2013 in the absence of applications by competitors.
The lots were bought for UAH 420000 in total. Thus, DTEK obtained 545 MW for export towards Slovakia, Hungary and Romania, 235 MW for export towards Poland, 300 MW for export towards Moldova and 500 MW for export towards Belarus.
