Ukraine Plans to Export Agricultural Commodities for USD 22 bn
OREANDA-NEWS. February 08, 2013. Last year’s positive balance of the foreign trade in products of agroindustrial complex made up over USD 10 billion. At this export of production of the agrarian sector for the mentioned period made up more than USD 18 billion. In 2013 it is planned to boost export of agricultural commodities. This was informed by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhniuk in the course of a briefing held in the House of the Government.
“In 2012 we exported agricultural commodities to the sum of over 18 billion dollars. And the positive balance amounted over 10 billion. That is, we boosted export by almost 40%. This year we tend to further increase volumes of export of agricultural production and foodstuffs,” Mykola Prysyazhniuk told.
The Minister forecast that the current year Ukrainian agrarians can export agricultural commodities and foodstuff to the tune of USD 22 billion. So, volumes of supplies of national agricultural products to Asian countries and Eurounion are increasing.
“We are working at expanding of sales markets in the countries of Asia. Also volumes of trade with the European Union are actively enhancing. And signing an Agreement on Free Trade Area with the EU will enable to significantly increase export of ready production to the European countries,” Mykola Azarov added.
