Belarus Raises Retail Prices for Certain Cigarette Brands on Feb 1
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus is raising retail prices for 2 cigarette brands on February 1, 2013, the Tax Ministry of Belarus said in a statement posted on the ministry’s official web site.
Retail prices of home-made Fort brand cigarettes will go up by 4.9% to Br4,300 (USD 0.498 at the official rate of Belarus’ central bank), imported Sobranie brand cigarettes - up 10% to Br33,000 (USD 3.824).
The Tax Ministry also reports that the price of Queen and Portal One brand cigarettes produced by Grodno tobacco mill Neman shall be Br4,100 per pack (USD 0.475).
As previously reported, Belarus raised retail prices for home-made cigarette brands on January 1, 2013 by 6.3-56.7% depending on the brand; imported brand cigarettes – 13.6-19.6%.
