OREANDA-NEWS. To address the water crisis in rural areas facing acute water shortage during summer, Tata Steel has installed water extraction facilities along with overhead tanks in four villages of Potka block. Nearly 200 households in four villages namely Tirildih, Rangamatia, Hatnabeda and Binguburu will benefit from the installation of deep bore well facility.

For schools located in rural areas, lack of basic amenities such as safe drinking water and sanitation often becomes a deterrent for children to attend school. To address this issue, Tata Steel has also provided deep bore well facilities in two schools in the Potka block - Upgraded Middle School, Turi and Bidyaniketan High School, Haldipokhar. The objective is to empower 1000 students through access to education and thereby improve their quality of life.

Mrs. Menoka Sardar, MLA, Potka and Mr. Biren Bhuta, Chief, Corporate Sustainability Services, Tata Steel inaugurated the deep bore well facilities in Potka block, East Singhbhum today.

Respective Zila Parishads, Mukhiyas, Ward Members, Mahila Samities and villagers were also present at the occasion.
