OREANDA-NEWS. February 06, 2013. Minister of Culture Rein Lang recognised companies who have long supported Estonian culture and awarded three with ‘Friend of Culture of the Year’ titles. Swedbank was recognised as culture-friendly company, reported the press-centre of Swedbank.

“I'm very pleased to accept this recognition at the state level, which tells me that our activities as a supporter of the International Arvo Part Centre have been noticed and appreciated,” said Priit Perens, CEO at Swedbank Estonia.

Swedbank was also recognised for the support it has given to cultural organisations via its Donation Environment.

The Ministry of Culture launched the initiative to recognise culture-friendly companies last year. Minister Lang thanked a total of 50 companies at the ceremony, which was held at Tallinn City Theatre. All of the laureates of the Friend of Culture title were nominated by cultural organisations.
