OREANDA-NEWS.  European Gas Conference was held in Vienna by the organization of Austrian Energy Ministry and Energy Exchange Company.
 The conference brought together the heads of European countries’ energy agencies and companies, TAP, Nabucco, North Stream, South Stream projects, as well as Secretaries-General of Eurogas and Energy Charter international organizations. Azerbaijan was represented by the delegation led by Mr. Vitali Baylarbayov, SOCAR Deputy Vice-President on investments and marketing.

 The lecturers noted the important role of Shah Deniz and Southern Gas Corridor projects in ensuring the European energy security, spoke about significance of the Caspian gas reserves, and stressed the importance of Azerbaijan as a reliable partner for Europe. Mr. Baylarbayov made a speech on the South Stream project at the plenary meeting and informed about the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe.

 Within the event, Mr. Baylarbayov and head of SOCAR’s Austria-based office Mr. Gulmirze Javadov held a number of bilateral meetings.
