OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2013. The Union State has been gathering pace, Belarus Premier Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota.

The Belarusian head of government took note of positive integration processes and projects. Mikhail Myasnikovich also praised positive dynamics in the programs on cooperation in industry, mechanic engineering, electronics, biotechnologies, science and education. “The main thing is that all the Union State programs have future perspectives,” the PM said.

“We still have a lot to do. At the previous meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers and the meeting with Dmitry Medvedev we agreed to supervise eight projects that would give a start to transnational corporations, Belarusian-Russian joint companies,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said. The issue was considered at the meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers of Belarus. “We are talking here about really important projects,” the Belarusian Premier continued and addressed Grigory Rapota with a request “to involve all the Union State structures in their implementation”.

A list of Belarus-Russia priority projects that will become transnational corporations in time has not been agreed yet. Grigory Rapota, State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, told media.

According to Grigory Rapota, these projects deal with mechanical engineering, high technologies, the development of natural resources and so on. “Once the list is ready, we will surely publish it,” he assured.

The official remarked that at the meeting with Prime Minister of Belarus Mr Mikhail Myasnikovich earlier that day they had discussed not only the projects but the mechanism to implement and finance them, too. “Nominating an idea is one thing, but working out the mechanisms to implement and finance them as well as information support for a project are another thing,” said Grigory Rapota.

In his words, the meeting touched upon the property of the Union State (there are certain difficulties) and the ideology of interaction between the permanent committee and federal authorities. The decision-making mechanism was discussed. Special attention was paid to scientific avenues of cooperation.
