OREANDA-NEWS. February 1, 2013. Having won an open contest organized by the Ministry of education and science of Russia, Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems together with three Siberian universities will receive grants for the development of high-technology manufacturing.
ISS-Reshetnev carries out extensive scientific research into a wide range of areas and cooperates with leading education institutions. To participate in the contest, the company submitted 3 projects prepared in tandem with Siberian universities. The projects went through close examination and careful selection and were finally approved by the ministry. ISS-Reshetnev has the best result among industrial enterprises which have taken part in the contest in terms of the number of projects approved.
According to the terms of the competition, the state will recover the cost of performing various R&D and technology development projects for civilian needs. Work is to be undertaken by the universities in the interest of ISS-Reshetnev. The grant duration is 1 to 3 years and the company will be able to receive annually up to 100 million rubles per project in state grants.
The first project is called “Development of high-technology production of modern onboard TT&C instruments in compliance with standards and recommendations set by the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) for unpressurised satellites”. The project is to be implemented in cooperation with Siberian Federal University.
Another project was worked out in tandem with Academician M.R. Reshetnev Siberian State Aerospace University. It is focused on setting up production of precise elements of telecommunications satellites’ structures using high-modulus composite materials which remain geometrically stable in the space environment.
As for the third project, its main purpose will be the design and development of an advanced autonomous navigation subsystem using specialized Russian-made components based on the nano-heterostructure technology. The system is to be installed on satellites designed to operate in different types of orbits. Some work under this project the Reshetnev Company will subcontract to Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics.
The Ministry of education and science holds this contest and awards grants for the development of technology-based manufacturing in order to foster and promote cooperation between universities, scientific institutions and industrial enterprises.
