OREANDA-NEWS. February 1, 2013. MMX Mineracao e Metalicos S.A informs its shareholders and the market in general that Carlos Gonzalez has been appointed CEO and Investor Relations Officer in substitution of Guilherme Escalhao.

Carlos Gonzalez held a position of Officer at EBX Holding and his appointment by the Board Members reinforces EBX's promotion of home-grown talent.

The new CEO of MMX has more than 20 years of professional experience in the iron ore sector. Graduated with a degree in Geology and Mining Engineering from Faculdade Federal de Ouro Pedro, Carlos Gonzalez has MBA in Business Management and Strategy from FEA/USP.

He developed his career at Vale, being responsible for the Operations at Carajas as General Manager. He works at EBX Group since 2005 as Mining Director, having participated in several MMX Mineracao e Metalicos S.A. projects since its conception. From 2008 to 2011 held the position of COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Minas-Rio Project (Anglo American), returning to EBX Group in 2011 as Officer at EBX Holding.
