OREANDA-NEWS. February 1, 2013. The rating of regions of Russia on the share of Internet users on results of 2011 prepared by experts on the basis of the data of the Federal State Statistics Service is published.

On results of the rating the Republic of Karelia is the fifth with a parameter of 60.7% of households of the region using Internet. In the rating our republic is inferior to Moscow (71.9%), St.-Petersburg (71.3%), Murmansk Region (62.8%) and Kamchatka Krai (65.7%) only. It has also been mentioned that without being the leader on the rating of social and economic development, the Republic of Karelia shows high Internet experience of its citizens.

The rating was based on the official data of the Federal State Statistics Service on results of selective survey of budgets of households in 2011 and is made on the basis of ranging the regions on the sum of parameters obtained as a result of research of the Federal State Statistics Service (the share of members of households in the region using Internet constantly and the share of members of households using Internet every once in a while).
