HarvEast Holding Set to Boost Grain Storage Capacity in 2013
OREANDA-NEWS. February 1, 2013. HarvEast Holding plans to increase its grain storage capacity by 60,000 tonnes to 165,000 tonnes using the latest Silo Bag technology.
In 2013, the company is set to store 80,000 tonnes of gain in silo bags to be placed in six sites. Each facility will keep from 7,000 to 20,000 tonnes at the same time. HarvEast has already completed the site in Novoazovsk District, Donetsk Oblast. Now It is building facilities in Volnovakha, Pershotravensk and Starobeshevo Districts and another site in Novoazovsk. The company also owns warehouses and grain receiving sites with the capacity of 22,000 tonnes and 63,000 tonnes respectively.
"Last year we already stored 20,000 tonnes of grain in silo bags. Having analyzed the results and value for money, we decided to place our bets on this technology. We will invest about UAH 7 million to buy necessary equipment and build sites," said HarvEast Holding Chief Operations Officer Dmitriy Skornyakov.
HarvEast Holding is an agricultural group of companies, which owns and manages assets in Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Cherkassy, Zhytomir Oblasts and the Crimea. The Holding's focus areas include crop raising (wheat, sunflower, barley, permanent grasses and corn) and dairy farming.
Established on 10 March 2011, HarvEast Holding evolved from the assets previously owned by Ilyich Steel Plant. The overall bank of farmland is around 220,000 hectares and total livestock exceeds 25,000 heads.
The shareholders of HarvEast Holding are SCM and Smart Holding.
